The film is set in 1800 and contains the poet Edgar Allan Poe. Poes description of a serial killer loose and killed his poems and published a story that people are using. Po groups operating in the field, using his knowledge of a Baltimore police description, try and catch the killer. Fictional stories, they start to move them ahead of the reality of the killer. Then, as the lover becomes the target of Poes, a personal note. They will be able to stop the killer in time?
