1Storyline:
Dartmoor, 1914: To wifes dismay farmer Narracott buy a plow horse racing than animals, but when the teenage son Albert trains the horse and calls Joey, the two became inseparable. When crops fail, farmers have to sell Joey to the British cavalry and he was sent to France where, after a disastrous offensive he is captured by the Germans and changes hands twice more before he is found, caught the barbed wire in No Mans Land four years later and freed. He returned behind British lines where Albert, now a private, temporarily blinded by gas but still met his beloved Joey. Yet, ceasefires declared Joey is planned to be auctioned. After all they have been through will Albert and Joey return home together?
